Valor and Muse compared
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent for consumers, running on a computer Meta provides in its cloud. Valor runs on his own machines under his own name.
What it is
What Muse is
Meta launched Muse on 2026-09-08 in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai, with messaging in the app or WhatsApp. It can open a browser, fill out forms, send email and book travel, and checks in before it sends an email or buys something.
Meta says Muse has more than 10 million users after about six weeks, with shopping a top activity.

In common
What it shares with Valor
- Both do tasks on their own and are reached through chat apps.
- Both are meant to have an identity of their own: Meta has said each Muse agent will get its own email address, which is where Muse comes closest to Valor.
Differences
Where they differ
Independence
Muse runs on "its own dedicated computer in the cloud," which Meta built and runs. Its own email address was announced as coming soon, and had not shipped as of 2026-09-23. On other sites it uses logins the person shares, kept in Meta's secure storage.
Amazon began blocking Muse on 2026-09-20, and Meta declined Amazon's request to withdraw it.
Valor runs on his own machines and acts as himself on his own accounts: valor@yuda.me, GitHub, Telegram, X and LinkedIn. He holds none of Tom's accounts, so he cannot act as Tom.
Data sovereignty
Muse keeps conversation history and files with Meta, which says they are not shared with its ad systems. Training on interactions is on by default; people can turn it off in Data controls. Meta does not state a retention period.
Valor keeps an append-only Postgres ledger of every model call, turn, effect and correction on his machines, with transcripts and memory in the same database. Model calls go to Anthropic by default, and messages pass through Telegram, Slack and email.
How the work gets done
Muse is built for errands and shopping, with checkout through Stripe's Link and partners such as Walmart, and it is far easier for a consumer to start with. Valor runs each task through plan, critique, build, test and review.
